a couple of guys came knocking on our front door yesterday afternoon. i was taking a nap and looked rather disheveled when i opened the door, and hastily put on a jacket before hearing what reason they had for disturbing my siesta (and it had better be good).

they were marketing a product, apparently. i'm inclined to turn salesmen down right at the outset, but they were talking about saving on our electricity bill. i'm always keen to listen to ways to save on bills, so i guess they got my attention. XD

i woke up aru as well and asked him to accompany me and listen to what they had to say.

they started by informing us that most appliances in the philippines were on 220V, but electricity usually spikes up to 240V to 250V during power surges or after a blackout when power suddenly comes back on. this is meralco's fault, they said. they pointed me towards our meralco meter, which had "240V" written on it. they said meralco allows surges like that to happen, so that electricity generated is greater, meaning more money for them.

their product, called starpower, corrects the flow of electricity so that it is maintained at 220V. they demonstrated by making me look at the electricity meter while they turned their machine on. there really was a noticeable slowdown in the revolution of the disc in the meter. they assured me this was because the electricity flow was corrected, regulating electricity generation at the right flow.

their machine looked like a small AVR, and you only had to plug it into one socket and it will work for the whole house. they were offering a lifetime guarantee and product support in case of problems.

the price? it was originally php 13,000 but they're offering 50% off - php 7,500. i'm thinking it's a good deal since they're promising it will reduce our php 5,000 monthly electricity bill to around php 3,000. o__o

but of course, i have my qualms. can't be too careful of scams. i asked if it was legal, they said it was. they said that if they messed with the meter or electricity line directly, that was illegal. but their product was plugged into a socket, and that it wasn't interfering with the provision of service by meralco. and it doesn't heat up or anything.

in principle, benta na sa akin. XD i just want to make sure that it's legal and safe and won't destroy my house or otherwise cause me more trouble than its worth.

i wanted to know if you guys have heard of this offer before? any known issues or what? i got their number, should i call them back and reserve a unit for our house?

on a lighter note, while those two were speaking with us, aru strangely wouldn't get up from his seat. he told me to be the one to check the meter during the product demonstration and all.

when the salesmen were gone and we went to the kitchen to talk about the product, he pulled out a HUGE pair of scissors from his back pocket.

kimi: O__O
aru: (rubbing his back) it was poking at my butt.
kimi: but why have scissors inside your pocket??
aru: (nonchalantly) so that i have a weapon in case they turn out to be robbers or murderers, you know?
kimi: ...
aru: and one of them was a pervert, i caught him sneak a look down the gap of your jacket. he saw me looking at him and i think he sweated a little.
kimi: ......

this, i think, is primarily the reason why i should probably not live alone. i can be totally oblivious to such hazards. =__=

first of all, thanks to those who replied in my previous post. i truly apologize for not replying earlier, thereby killing the mood for decent discussion. >.> but i really appreciated your feedback and had a good think about them. :D

so for white day, i treated aru to watch "300," and as [info]kuro_inu said, it was "AB-TASTIC!" lol.

upon seeing all those 'pan de sal' abs, aru looked at his tummy and complained, "i think mine's spanish bread." ROFL.

this is almost reminiscent of thingsmyboyfriendsays.com, but a bit milder i think. XD

i always wake up earlier than aru to attend to my work. he's a light sleeper, so he would wake up often and then immediately go back to sleep. this morning, when i saw him open his eyes, i smiled at him, and he blinked and went back to sleep. i didn't realize i'd done this twice more until, when he finally fully woke up:

aru: anong meron?
kimi: huh?
aru: bakit ka ngiti nang ngiti?
kimi: ai sorry. may rason ba dapat? good morning lang naman. 'yaan mo, sisimangutan na kita lagi sa umaga. o_O

and this, thus far, is the best compliment i've ever gotten from him:

kimi: *wakes up too early and grouchily climbs back to bed to get more sleep*
aru: *snuggles then pauses* di ka pa naliligo?
kimi: yescauseitstooearlyineedmoresleepgrowlleavemeinpeace.
aru: pero bakit ang bango ng pagkabaho mo?

true love nga naman.. ._.

i uploaded a little something over at multiply:  helplessly hoping by crosby, stills, nash and young

the song never fails to break my heart every time i hear it. ;_;

happy valentine's day to everyone! ^^

oh, and for valentines, aru gave me three long-stemmed roses and permission to get an additional piercing on my right ear. much love to him for the latter. ♥ (yeah, and ignore the roses LOL!)

on an afterthought, i watched this tv show once on filipino delinquent youths, and there was this one kid talking about ear piercings and how they get their left ear pierced because if you had your right ear pierced (or, if you have a both ears pierced, you had more piercings at the right ear), that means that you're gay.

..fail. ._.

so i took this test i gacked from [info]charsequil which supposedly measures your musical skills.

i got a score of 80.4, and then of course aru just had to take the test, too, but got a rather disappointing score which i will not post for his sake. o_o

of course he immediately had negative thoughts about his musical skills, and i just had to bop him over the head and told him that it wasn't a reflection of the way he makes his music, which is, of course, beautiful. (walang kokontra!!)

i think i got a good enough score because of my transcription training which honed my hearing sensitivity. i think. lol.

go take the test and tell me your scores!

l'arc~con is tomorrow.

stress. =_=

see, in the event, aru's band Xeven:Thvrsday will be also be releasing their indie recorded singles, and we still haven't finished labelling them all. i foresee a long night ahead. ~_~

indie = manual production. LOL. i can only say that these singles have been produced with loving effort, so please buy the original kthx. XD

in line with shameless promotion, i have also made a community for the band, [info]xeventhvrsday. i might develop it to make it a bit more presentable, but the operative word is might. LOL. for the moment, it will be used for announcements by the band and such.

so.

back to stressing i go~

of course, now i have to make an lj for aru, too. ^^;;

his username, [info]saguittaru, is a combination of the phrase 'sa gitara' and his nickname in a spoof of the word 'sagittarius,' which is his zodiac sign. XD

love you koi~ ♥
